Westies fall to Lyman Hall in opener

 - The West Haven girls swim team opened the season with a 94-80 home loss against Lyman Hall.
The Westies had two first place finishes as Olivia DeLauri won the 100 backstroke, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Ava Gallipoli, Olivia DeLauri, Emily Guthrie, and Isabella DeLauri was also victorious.
West Haven also had several second-place finishes as Gallipoli was second in the 200 freestyle, Khando Dorjee was second in the 100 butterfly, Caly Nyack was second in the 200 IM, Gallipoli was second in the 500 freestyle, and the 200 freestyle relay team of Nyack, Dorjee, Emily Falanga, and Gallipoli was also second.
Third place finishes included the 200 medley relay team of Nyack, Amanda Fagnani, Dorjee, and Isobel Roche, Dorjee in the 200 IM, Emily Guthrie in the 50 freestyle, Olivia DeLauri in the 100 freestyle, Guthrie in the 500 freestyle, and Fagnani in the 100 breast.Michelle Tompkins was fourth in the 50 freestyle, Amber Militrano placed fourth in the 1 meter diving, Nyack was fourth in the 100 butterfly, Emily Falanga placed fourth in the 500 freestyle, and Delia Vital was fourth in the 100 breast.

Westies fall to 97-76

 - The West Haven girls swim team fell to 0-2 with a 97-76 defeat at West Haven Tuesday afternoon.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Olivia DeLauri, Emma Dorjee, Khando Dorjee, and Emily Guthrie placed second in 2 minutes, 21.87 seconds, while the 400 freestyle relay team of Ava Gallipoli, Guthrie, Olivia DeLauri, and Isabella DeLauri placed third in 5.05.57.
The 200 freestyle saw Gallipoli place first in 2:28.16, and Isabella DeLauri placed fourth in 2:46.23. Khando Dorjee was second in the 200 IM in 2:59.19, while the 50 freestyle had Emily Falanga place second in 31.19, Olivia DeLauri third in 32.15, and Michelle Tompkins fourth in 32.96.
Madison Rowland was first in the 1 meter diving with 92.15 points, Khando Dorjee was third in the 100 fly at 1:22.18, Isabella Delauri was third in the 100 free in 1:14.81, and the 500 free saw Gallipoli place second in 6:47.55 and Guthrie third in 6:55.49.Olivia Delauri was second in the 100 back in 1:21.08, while Emma Dorjee was third in the 100 breast in 1:37.36.


WH falls to Foran
Westies drop 93-82 decision

 - Despite a close meet, the West Haven girls swim team fell to 0-3 with a 93-82 loss to Foran Thursday afternoon in West Haven.
The 200 medley relay team placed first with a team of Olivia DeLauri, Emma Dorjee, Khando Dorjee, and Caly Nyack in 2:18.91. The 200 free relay placed second with a team of Nyack, Khando Dorjee, Emily Guthrie, and Ava Gallipoli in 2:05.06, while the 400 free relay placed second with a team of Guthrie, Gallipoli, Olivia DeLauri, and Emily Falanga in 4:56.13.
Gallipoli was second in the 200 free in 2:27.12, Khando Dorjee was fourth in the 200 IM in 2:51.77, and Falanga was fourth in the 50 free in 33.37 seconds.
Madison Rowland was third in the 1 meter diving with 94.55 points, Nyack was third in the 100 fly in 1:27.68, Khando Dorjee was third in the 100 free in 1:06.73, and Gallipoli was third in the 500 free in 6:42.27.Nyack was second in the 100 back in 1:14.93, and Emma Dorjee was second in the 100 breast in 1:35.09.


East nips West
Westies fall 86-80 to East Haven

 - The West Haven girls swim team is inching closer to its first win of the season. In a tight meet, West Haven fell to East Haven co-op 86-80 Tuesday afternoon at West Haven High, falling to 0-5 on the year.
The 200 medley relay team placed third with a team of Ava Gallipoli, Khando Dorjee, Caly Nyack, and Emily Guthrie in 2:24.16. The 200 free relay team was second with a team of Nyack, Dorjee, Emily Falanga, and Delia Vital in 2:06.90, while the 400 free relay team was second with a team of Gallipoli, Olivia DeLauri, Falanga, and Guthrie in 4:47.46.
Isabella DeLauri was third in the 200 free in 2:40.82, Khando Dorjee was third in the 200 IM in 2:51.51, Gallipoli was second in the 50 free in 29.77 seconds, and Nyack placed third in the 100 fly in 1:27.75.
Khando Dorjee finished third in the 100 free in 1:09.70, Gallipoli won the 500 free in 6:39.16, Guthrie was second in the 500 free in 7:01.66, Nyack won the 100 back in 1:14.99, and Olivia DeLauri was second in the 100 back in 1:16.61.Emma Dorjee placed second in the 100 breast in 1:35.52, and Amanda Fagnani was third in the 100 breast in 1:46.50.

WH drops 100-83 decision

 - The West Haven girls swim team fell to 0-6 with a 100-83 defeat at Branford Tuesday afternoon.
The Westies placed second in the 200 medley relay with a team of Ava Gallipoli, Emma Dorjee, Khando Dorjee, and Emily Falanga in 2 minutes, 21.24 seconds. The 200 free relay team of Khando Dorjee, Falanga, Delia Vital, and Emily Guthrie was second in 2:07.39, and the 400 free relay team was also second with a team of Gallipoli, Caly Nyack, Guthrie, and Olivia DeLauri in 4:47.83.
Gallipoli won the 200 freestyle in 2:27.29, while Vital was third in 2:49.79. Khando Dorjee was second in the 200 IM in 2:54.04, Falanga placed second in the 50 Free in 31.77 seconds, and Vital was third in 33.69.
Madison Rowland was third in diving with 92.85 points, Nyack was third in the 100 fly in 1:26.27, while Khando Dorjee won the 100 free in 1:04.41, and Falanga placed third in 1:10.74. Gallipoli won the 500 freestyle in 6:38.11, Guthrie was third in 7:12.38, Nyack won the 100 backstroke in 1:15.28, and DeLauri placed second.

Emma Dorjee placed third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:37.86.
