Tigers have Hand
WH falls in close meet with Tigers

 The West Haven boys’ swimming team fell just short in its bid to upset Hand - Madison. Despite winning eight events, the Westies (2-8) fell to the Tigers 92-86 Tuesday afternoon at West Haven.
Max Padro had a big day as he was part of four victorious teams. Geordann Daguplo and Gaelen Rhoads each posted three victories. 
The 200 medley realy team of Daguplo, Rhoads, Padro and Daniel Acosta won in 1 minute, 55.54 seconds. The 200 freestyle relay team of Padro, Daguplo, Acosta and Rhoads won in 1:47.28 and the 400 freestle relay team won in 4:48.67. That team consisited of Hicham Lkhal, Carmelo Hernandez, Xavier Morrison and T.J. Blotney.
Padro won the 50 free in 24.18 seconds, and the 100 butterfly in 56.76. 
Luis Alvarez won the diving with 139.55 points, Rhoads won the 100 freestyle in 58.28 and Daguplo won the 100 backstroke in 1:08.51. s.

Westies fall to Shelton
Gaels post 107-63 victory

 The West Haven boys’ swimming team fell to Shelton Thursday afternoon by a score of 107-63. Despite the strong effort of Max Padro, the Westies did not have the depth against the Gaels in the loss.
Padro was part of three victorious events as he won the 200 freestyle in 1 minute, 58.30 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 52.52 seconds. Padro was also part of the victorious 200 freestyle relay team in 1:42.58 along with Gaelen Rhoads, Geordann Daguplo and Daniel Acosta. 
Daguplo also won the 100 backstroke in 1:08.88 and Rhoads was victorious in the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.66. 


Westies fall to Indians
NH posts 100-83 victory

 The West Haven boys’ swimming team fell to North Haven100-83 Tuesday afternoon at West Haven High.
Despite 3 winning events apiece from Geordann Daguplo, Gaelen Rhoads and Max Padro, the Westies could not catch the Indians.
The 200 medley relay team of Daguplo, Rhoads, Padro and Daniel Acosta won in 1 minute, 59.50 seconds. Rhoads also won the 200 freestyle in 2:14.85 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.48.
Padro was also victorious in the 200 IM in 2:14.24 and the 100 butterfly in 58.89 seconds. Daguplo also posted victories in the 100 freestyle in 56.86 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1:07.88.
West Haven fell to 2-7 with the loss. 

Positive Results
Despite loss, WH on the right track

Despite swimming well and winning six events, the West Havenboys’ swim team fell to Hamden Thursday afternoon, 99-76. With the loss, West Haven dropped to 2-5 on the season.
“This was another great meet,” West Haven coach Erin McCauley said. “We had a lot of best times, including Daniel Acosta swimming the 100 fly in 1:10.34 and T.J. Blotney cracking 6:30 in the 500 (6:28.86).
“The 200 medley relay and 400 free relay, both composed of Daniel Acosta, Geordann Daguplo, Gaelen Rhoads and Max Padro, both had season best times. We had no DQ’s and a lot of hustle. I am really proud of how far this team has come.”
Max Padro, who was part of three winning events, won the 200 IM in 2 minutes, 10.60 seconds, Luis Alvarez was victorious in diving with 142.20 points and Padro also won the 100 fly in 58.77 seconds.
Geordann Daguplo was a winner in the 100 freestyle in 57.06 and Gaelen Rhoads won the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.30.The 400 freestyle relay team of Daniel Acosta, Daguplo, Rhoads and Padro won in

On a Roll
WH wins second in row

 The West Haven boys' swim team is on a roll. Winning nine events Tuesday afternoon, the Westies defeated Jonathan Law 93-75 for their second consecutive victory. 
Max Padro, Gaelen Rhoads and Geordann Daguplo had big days as each were part of three winning events. The Westies improved to 2-4 on the year.
The 200 medley relay team of Daguplo, Rhoads, Padro and Daniel Acosta won in 2 minutes, 1.32 seconds, Rhoads won the 200 freestyle in 2:16.67 and also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.88.
Padro was victorious in the 200 IM in 2:10.20 and the 100 fly in 57.68 seconds, while Daguplo won the 100 freestyle in 57.79 and the 100 backstroke in 1:07.61.
Luis Alvarez won the diving with 134.50 points and T.J. Blotney was victorious in the 500 freestyle in 6:36.58.

Westies defeat Kennedy
WH posts 95-87 victory

 The West Haven boys' swimming team defeated Kennedy in a close meet Friday afternoon, 95-87. The Westies won nine events on the afternoon. 
"Out times were down significantly from Thursday to Friday," West Haven coach Erin McCauley said. "The boys really wanted a "W" and they gave it everything they had. I was very happy with their effort and sportsmanship."
The 200 medley relay team of Geordann Daguplo, Gaelen Rhoads, Max Padro and Daniel Acosta won in 2 minutes, 1.31 seconds and the 200 freestyle relay team of Luis Alvarez, Carmelo Hernandez, T.J. Blotney and Hicham Lkhal won in 2:01.87. 
The 400 freestyle relay team of Acosta, Daguplo, Rhoads and Padro also won in 4:04.29. 
Rhoads won the 200 freestyle in 2:16.31 and Lkhal was second in 2:22.26, which is a 20 second drop from the beginning of the season for Lkhal. 
Padro was victorious in the 200 IM in 2:11.87, Hernandez was third in the 50 freestyle in 30.18 seconds and Alvarez was second in diving with 123.00 points. Padro won the 100 butterfly in 58.91 seconds and Daguplo was a victor in the 100 freestyle in 58.05 seconds. 
Blotney won the 500 freestyle in 6:33.77 and Lkhal was fourth in 6:50.82, a drop of 12 seconds from Thursday. 
Daguplo won the 100 backstroke in 1:08.29 and Rhoads was third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.38. 

Westies defeated by Lyman Hall
WH drops 95-77 decision

 The West Haven boys' swimming team fell to Lyman Hall 95-77 Thursday afternoon at Sheehan High. The Westies won just two events in the loss. 
The 200 medley relay team of Max Padro, Geordann Daguplo, Daniel Acosta and Gaelen Rhoads placed second in 2 minutes, 6.77 seconds. 
The 200 freestyle relay team of Luis Alvarez, Carmelo Hernandez, T.J. Blotney and Hicham Lkhal was third in 2:30 and the 400 freestyle relay team of Acosta, Daguplo, Rhoads and Padro was second in 4:22.79. 
Lkhal was fourth in the 200 freestyle in 2:30.95, while Hernandez was fifth in 2:43.77. Rhoads placed third in the 200 IM in 2:35.12, Acosta was fourth in 2:47.74 and Blotney was fifth in 2:55.00. 
Padro was second in the 50 freestyle in 24.39 seconds and Xavier Morrison was fifth in 31.62. 
Alvarez was second in diving with 125.60 points, Padro won the 100 butterfly in 58.44, while Alvarez was fourth in 1:30.50. 
Daguplo placed third in the 100 freestyle in 58.16 and Hernandez was fifth in 1:09.50, Lkhal was third in the 500 freestyle in 7:02.00 and Acosta was fourth in 7:20.70.
Daguplo won the 100 backstroke in 1:09.89 and Rhoads was second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.50. 

Westies fall to Rams
WH wins only four events in 100-68 loss

 The West Haven boys' swimming team fell to Cheshire 100-68 Friday afternoon in West Haven. The Westies won only four events in the 32-point loss. 
Max Padro won the 100 backstroke  in 1 minute, 2.55 seconds, and the 100 butterfly in 55.91 seconds. Gaelen Rhoads was victorious in the 100 breaststroke in 1:18.01 and the 400 freestyle relay team won in 4:29.42. 
The team consisted of Daniel Acosta, Geordann Daguplo, Rhoads and Padro.  

Sheehan too much for Westies
West Haven falls to 0-2 with 87-71 loss

 After a long layoff, the West Haven boys’ swimming team returned to action Tuesday evening. Traveling to Wallingford, the Westies fell to Sheehan, 87-71to fall to 0-2.
The Westies were victorious in five events, but could not catch the Titans.
Sophomore Max Padro had a big day as he was part of three of the victories. Padro won the 200 im in 2 minutes, 6.66 seconds, and the 100 butterfly in 58.46 seconds.
Senior Xavier Morrison was victorious in the 100 backstroke in 1:39.57, Gaelen Rhoads won the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.71 and the 400 freestyle relay team won in 4:19.35.
The 400 freestyle relay team consisted of senior captain Daniel Acosta, Rhoads, freshman T.J. Blotney and Padro.
