Westies place 15th in SCC Championships
Savannah Brown places in 2 events

 The West Haven girls' track and field team placed 15th in the Southern Connecticut Conference Championships with 13 points. Amity won the title with 119 points and Hillhouse was second with 96 points at Sheehan High in Wallingford. 
West Haven's Savannah Brown was fourth in the high jump at 5 feet - 0 inches with Sacred Heart Academy's Becki Golia placing first at 5 feet - 4 inches. Brown was third in the triple jump at 33-09.75 as Amity's Alexa Eldracher won at 36-10.50.
Tierra Gamble placed seventh in the shot put at 32-07.25.

 The West Haven girls' track and field team placed ninth in the Southern Connecticut Conference West Sectionals at Amity High Monday afternoon. 
North Haven's Emi Kanyo won the triple jump at 34 feet, 2 inches with West Haven's Savannah Brown second at 33-8. Vanessa Brown placed eighth at 30-8. 
West Haven's Tierra Gamble was third in the shot put at 31-01. North Haven took the top two spots as Kristina Klemenz won at 32-03 and Maria Chiaia was second at 32-01.

Westies fall to Hamden
WH drops to 1-7 with 84-56 loss

 The West Haven girls' track team put up a terrific effort but fell to Hamden, 84-56, Wednesday afternoon in West Haven. 
Alexis Goodhue and Savannah Brown each won two events but it was not enough in the loss. Goodhue won the 100 hurdles in 19.2 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 53.5, while Brown was victorious in the high jump at 4 feet - 8 inches and the triple jump at 32-7. 
Jessica Patrie won the 1600 in 6 minutes, 52.62 seconds and Tierra Gamble won the shot put at 34-5. Eliseah Jacobs finished in a first place tie in the pole vault at 6-6.

WH defeats Career for first victory of year

 The West Haven girls' track team is in the win column. With a solid team effort, the Westies defeated Career Monday afternoon at West Haven High, 78-56. 
Jessica Patrie and Savannah Brown each had a stellar day for the Westies. Patrie won the 1600 in 7 minutes, 8.14 seconds, the 800 in 3:16.3 and the 3200 in 17:51.2. 
Brown was victorious in the 200 in 29.4 seconds, and also won the triple jump at 31 feet - 11 inches and the high jump at 4-8. 
Tierra Gamble was victorious in the shot put at 33-4 and Statrell Miller won the javelin with a throw of 72-0.

Westies fall to Lions
Despite solid effort from Savannah Brown, WH drops 79-57 decision

 The West Haven girls' track team fell to Foran Thursday afternoon despite a sloid team effort. Savannah Brown won four events, but the Lions used their depth to defeat West Haven, 79-57. 
Alexis Goodhue won the 110 hurdles in 19.1 seconds, Savannah Brown won the 100 in 14.0 seconds and Eliseah Jacobs was victorious in the 400 in 71.9. 
Brown was victorious in the high jump at 4 feet - 6 inches and Avolyn Nieves won the 300 hurdles in 56.6. Brown also won the the 200 in 29.9 and the triple jump at 31-0.
The 4 x 400 team of Goodhue, Charlene Scott, Michelle Zheng and Jacobs won in 5 minutes, 5 seconds for West Haven.

Westies fall to Pacers
Savannah Brown wins two events in loss

 The West Haven girls' track team fell to Sacred Heart Academy 109-40 Tuesday afternoon in West Haven. 
Senior Savannah Brown had a good day as she posted victories in the 200 and the triple jump. Brown's winning time in the 200 was 28.7 seconds, while she won the triple jump at 32 feet-2 inches. 
Junior Eliseah Jacobs was victorious in the pole vault at 7 feet-0 inches and Tierra Gamble won the shot put with a distance of 32 feet, 8 inches.

Westies place 8th in SCC Championship
Manning, Williams lead the way

 The West Haven boys’ track and field team placed 8th in the Southern Connecticut Conference Championships Monday afternoon at Sheehan High in Wallingford. Amity won the title with 109 points, while Xavier was second with 93 points. West Haven had 36 points. 
Xavier's DeAngelo Berry won the 100 meter dash in 11.03 seconds with West Haven's Jawaun Manning second in 11.47 and Eddy Williams third in 11.50. 
Berry also won the 200 meter dash in 22.51 with Manning placing second in 22.96. Xavier beat West Haven in the 4 x 100 as the Falcons were first in 43.48, while the Westies were second in 43.93. 
Eric Singleton placed fifth in the long jump at 20 feet - 0.50 inches for the Westies.

Westies sixth in Sectionals
Williams, Singleton and Manning lead the way

 The West Haven boys' track and field team placed sixth in the Southern Connecticut Conference West Sectionals Monday afternoon at Amity High. Branford won with 164.50 points, Xavier was second with 145.50 points and West Haven was sixth with 53 points. 
Jawaun Manning, Eric Singleton and Eddy Williams all had solid days for the Westies. 
Xavier's DeAngelo Berry won the 100 meter dash in 10.81 seconds with Manning placing second in 11.19 and Williams third in 11.37. Berry also won the 200 meter dash in 22.26 with Manning placing third in 22.81. 
West Haven's Denzel Asson was fourth in the 400 meters in 54.69, while Singleton was seventh in the 110 hurdles in 16.67. Singleton was also fourth in the 300 hurdles in 43.46 and fifth in the long jump at 18 feet, 6.50 inches. 
Williams was fourth in the shot put at 42-02 and the 4 x 100 team won with a time of 44.35. 

Westies defeat Kaynor Tech
WH also falls to North Haven and Lyman Hall

– The West Haven boys' track team won one of three meets Friday afternoon. The Westies defeated Kaynor Tech, 69-48, but fell to North Haven, 106-40 and Lyman Hall 93-53. 
The Westies won the 4 x 100 and also won 4 individual events. Jawaun Manning was victorious in the 100 in 11.0 seconds and the 200 in 22.4. Eric Singleton won the long jump at 18 feet, 9 inches and also won the high jump at 5-2. 

Westies Split
WH defeats Career, but falls to ND

 Despite posting victories in 10 events, the West Haven boys' track team split its meet with Career and Notre Dame Tuesday afternoon in West Haven. The Westies defeated Career, 74-24, but fell to the Green Knights, 83-66. 
Eric Singleton had a good day for the Westies as he was victorious in four events. Singleton won the 110 hurdles in 16.9 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 47.3 seconds. Singleton was also victorious in the long jump at 19 feet - 0 inches and the high jump at 5-4.

The 4 x 100 relay team of Eddy Williams, Robert Hayes, Bobby Sampson and Jawaun Manning won in 44.3 seconds, while Manning was also victorious in the 100 in 11.5 and the 200 in 23.1. 
Sampson won the 400 in 52.1, Kadialy Toure won the triple jump at 37-7 and Jairo Camacho tied for the win in the javelin with Notre Dame's Ethan Godfrey with a distance of 128-0.


Westies fall to Fairfield Prep and Branford
WH posts just 2 wins in loss

 The West Haven boys’ track team suffered a pair of defeats Tuesday afternoon. The Westies fell to Fairfield Prep, 69-57, and also lost to Branford, 116-34.
The Westies won just two events in the losses. The 4 x 100 team of Eddy Williams, Denzel Asson, Robert Hayes and Jawaun Manning won in a time of 44.8 seconds. 
Williams was also involved in West Haven's other victory as he won the shot put at 42 feet - 2 inches.

Xavier defeats Westies
WH drops 98-47 decision

 Despite a strong effort from Eric Singleton, the West Haven boys' track team fell to Xavier, 98-47, Tuesday afternoon in West Haven. 
Singleton was victorious in three events for the Westies. He won the 110 hurdles in 16.8 seconds, the long jump at 17 feet - 4.5 inches and the 300 hurdles in 46.9. 
Eddy Williams was victorious in the shot put at 42-3, Jawaun Manning won the 200 in 23.0 and Kadialy Toure was victorious in the triple jump at 36-8.

Westies drop pair
WH falls to Shelton and Cross but beats Hillhouse

 The West Haven boys' track team dropped two of three in a meet with Shelton, Wilbur Cross and Hillhouse Tuesday afternoon. The Westies fell to Shelton 95-54 and Wilbur Cross 69-66, but defeated Hillhouse 71-55. 
The Westies won the 4 x 100 relay in 45.1 seconds with a team of Eddy Williams, Robert Hayes, Bobby Sampson and Jawaun Manning.

Manning won the 100 in 11.4 seconds, Sampson won the 400 in 53.1 and Williams won the shot put at 43 feet - 1.75 inches. Manning continued his solid day by winning the 200 in 23.4 seconds.

Foran defeats Westies
WH falls to 1-3 with 83.5-65.5 loss

 Despite some solid individual efforts, the West Haven boys' track team fell to Foran 83.5-65.5 Thursday afternoon in Milford. 
The team won a pair of relay events, posting victories in the 4 x 100 and the 4 x 400. In the 4 x 100, the team of Eddy Williams, Robert Hayes, Bobby Sampson and Jawaun Manning won in 45.4 seconds. Denzel Asson, Solomon Wilson-Frame, Djoulle Feissal and Sampson were victorious in the 4 x 400. 
Eric Singleton posted a pair of victories in the individual events as Singleton won the 110 hurdles in 16.9 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 44.9. Williams was victorious in the 100m in 11.41, Sampson won the 400m in 54.2 and Manning won the 200m in 24 seconds. 
Matt Jones won the discus with a distance of 101 feet - 1 inch. 

Westies split tri-meet
WH falls to Law and beats Guilford

 The West Haven boys’ track team split a meet with Jonathan Law and Guilford Tuesday afternoon in Milford. The Westies fell to Law 107-42, but defeated Guilford 69-62. 
Eric Singleton posted West Haven's lone victories on the day. Singleton won the 110 hurdles in 18.2 seconds and won the 300 hurdles in 45.8 seconds.

Hamden beats WH
Westies open season with 80-59 loss

 Looking to start the season on a positive note, the West Havenboys’ track team traveled to Hamden to play the Green Dragons. In a meet which saw the Westies win only five events, Hamden defeated the Westies 80-59 at Hamden High Wednesday afternoon in the season opener for both teams. 
Bobby Sampson had a good day for the Westies as Sampson won the 400 in 54.5 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 46.5 seconds. 
Eric Singleton posted a victory in the 110 hurdles in 17.7 seconds, Eddy Williams won the 100 in 11.3 seconds and Lugo was victorious in the high jump at 5 feet - 4 inches.
