The West Haven girls swim team took on Sheehan on West Haven’s senior night and lost 92-83.
In the 200 medley relay Anya Celmer, Mary Luz Hiedtmann, Karen Caceres, and Jillian Doherty took second place with a time of 2 minutes, 13.02 seconds, Jasmine Gilbert, Taylor Frissora, Talia Raucci, and Patty Vecellio placed fifth with a time of 2:34.70 and Maggie Yeh, Deidra Pratt, Celine Vicente and Keila Cruz placed sixth with a time of 3:37.91.
Nicole Gaston placed third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:24.62, and Nina DeSouza placed fifth with a time of 3:13.76. 
In the 200 individual medley, Heidtmann placed first with a time of 2:32.92, Adrianna Accioly placed third with a time of 2:59.71.
Gaston placed third in the 50 freestyle with a time of 30.57 seconds, Irene Ronan placed fifth with a time of 31.13 and Sirena Frissora placed sixth with a time of 33.69. 
Maxine Carrion placed second with a score of 165.40 in the 1 meter diving.
In the 100 butterfly, Caceres placed second with a time of 1:18.54, and Raucci placed fourth with a time of 1:22.60, and Daniela Morales placed sixth with a time of 1:38.89. 
In the 100 freestyle, Doherty placed second with a time of 1:06.47, Julie Furtado placed fifth with a time of 1:22.97, and DeSouza placed sixth with the time of 1:30.28. 
Celmer won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:46.53, Accioly placed fifth with a time of 7:13.55, and Morales placed fifth with a time of 7:53.74.
In the 200 free relay West Haven’s Heidtmann, Caceres, Doherty, and Celmer won with a time of 1:55.60. Raucci, Gilbert, Frissora, and Pratt placed fifth with a time of 2:36.08, and Vecellio, Mikaela Ford-Smith, Militrano, and Carrion placed sixth with a time of 3:23.13.
In the 100 backstroke, Gilbert placed second with a time of 1:14.67, Raucci placed fourth with a time of 1:24.72, and Taylor Frissora placed sixth with a time of 1:29.84.
Dana Joseph won the 100 breast stroke with a time of 1:31.38, Ronan placed second with the time of 1:31.79 and Cruz placed third with a time of 2:01.96. 
In the 400 free relay, West Haven’s Gaston, Sirena Frissora, Taylor Frissora, and Joseph won with the time of 5:12.22. Militrano, Cruz, Olivia Nicolelli, and Furtado placed second with the time of 6:08.31, and Pratt, Mayreliz Estrada, and Yeh placed third with the time of 7:24.24.

- The West Haven girls swimming team faced Cheshire Monday evening and fell 91-87.
In the 200 medley relay Anya Celmer, Mary Luz Heidtmann, Karen Caceres, and Jillian Doherty placed second with the time of 2 minutes, 10.91 seconds. Jasmine Gilbert, Dana Joseph, Talia Raucci, and Sirena Frissora placed fourth with the time of 2:21.64. Maggie Yeh, Keila Cruz, Olivia Nicolelli, and Celine Vicente placed fifth with the time of 3:14.61. 
Gilbert placed fourth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:28.42, Taylor Frissora placed fifth with the time of 2:57.66, and Sirena Frissora placed sixth with the time of 2:59.96. 
In the 200 individual medley, Heidtmann placed fourth with a time of 2:33.45 and Adrianna Accioly placed fifth with a time of 2:58.23. 
Celmer won the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.87, Joseph placed fifth with a time of 31.88. 
In the 1 meter diving, Maxine Carrion placed second with a score of 157.20 points and Mikaela Ford-Smith placed fifth with the score of 86.50. 
Caceres  placed third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:10.79, and Raucci placed fifth with a time of 1:27.30, and Daniela Morales placed sixth with a time of 1:35.94. 
In the 100 freestyle, Gaston placed third with the time of 1:04.00, Doherty placed fifth with the time of 1:07.49, and Taylor Frissora placed sixth with the time of 1:22.48. 
Celmer won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:47.16 and Accioly placed fifth with a time of 7:03.16. 
In the 200 free relay Heidtmann, Doherty, Caceres and Celmer placed first with a time of 1:55.91. Accioly, Gaston, Sirena Frissora, and Morales placed second with a time of 2:06.15, and Chelsea Osei, Yeh, Zoe Militrano, and Julie Furtado placed fourth with a time of 2:53.99. 
In the 100 backstroke, Caceres placed first with a time of 1:19.17, Doherty placed second with a time of 1:19.33, and Gaston placed third with a time of 1:22.21.
In the 100 breast stroke, Heidtmann won with the time of 1:18.95, Joseph placed second with a time of 1:31.59 and Cruz placed third with a time of 2:06.25. 
Gaston, Joseph, Raucci, and Taylor Frissora won the 400 frestyle relay with a time of 5:44.05. Cruz, Furtado, Morales, Accioly placed second with the time of 6:01.82, and Patricia Vecellio, Nina DeSouza, Samantha D'Amico, and Deidra Pratt placed third with a time of 7:02.46

The West Haven girls swim team took on Shelton Friday afternoon and fell 97-70. With the loss, the Westies dropped to 1-8 on the season.  
In the 200 medley relay, the Westies took second and fourth place.
In the 200 freestyle, Jasmine Gilbert placed fourth with the time of 2:28.51, Daniela Morales placed fifth with the time of 2:53.97, and Julie Furtado placed sixth with the time of 3:10.40. 
Mary Luz Heidtmann placed second in the 200 individual medley with time of 2:29.79, Adrianna Accioly placed fifth with the time of 2:56.91, and Taylor Frissora placed sixth with the time of 3:37.97. 
In the 50 freestyle, Doherty placed second with the time of 29.06, Irene Ronan placed fourth with the time of 31.17 and Sirena Frissora placed sixth with the time of 33.36. 
Caceres placed third in the 100 butterfly with the time of 1:16.72, Talia Raucci placed fourth with the time of 1:23.60, and Morales placed sixth with the time of 1:49.19.

Celmer placed third in the 100 backstroke with the time of 1:16.70, Caceres placed fourth with the time of  1:19.59, and Talia Raucci placed sixth with the time of 1:22.71.
In the 100 breast stroke, Heidtmann placed first with the time of 1:19.35, Gaston placed second with the time of 1:32.78 and Morales placed third with the time of 1:58.90. 
In the 400 free relay, West Haven placed first, second, and third. 

Hamden defeats Westies

 The West Haven girls swim team fell to Hamden Tuesday afternoon, 97-81. With the loss, West Haven fell to 1-7 on the season. 
In the 200 medley relay Jasmine Gilbert, Nicole Gaston, Sirena Frissora, and Jillian Doherty placed third with the time of 2 minutes, 24.30 seconds. Nina DeSouza, Julie Furtado, Daniela Morales, and Adrianna Accioly placed fourth with a time of 2:49.12 and Maggie Yeh, Anna Bartozzi, Olivia Nicolelli, and Samantha D'Amico  placed fifth with a time of 3:26.12. 
In the 200 freestyle, Morales placed fourth with the time of 3:04.17, Taylor Frissora placed fifth with the time of 3:04.78, and Furtado placed sixth with the time of 3:10.72. 
Karen Caceres placed first in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:40.52, Accioly placed fourth with the time of 2:57.57, and Talia Raucci placed fifth with the time of 2:58.14. 
In the 50 freestyle, Doherty placed first with the time of 29.41 and Sirena Frissora placed fifth with the time of 32.08. In the 1 meter diving, Maxine Carrion placed first.

Mary Luz Heidtmann won the 500 freestyle with the time of 6:10.50, Gilbert placed third with the time of 6:39.73, and Accioly placed fourth with the time of 7:01.24.
In the 200 free relay, Doherty, Celmer, Caceres, and Heidtmann placed second with a time of 1:55.52. Furtado, Sirena Frissora, Raucci, and Gaston placed fourth with the time of 2:10.15, and D’Amico, Nicolelli, Vicente, and Mikaela Ford-Smith placed sixth with the time of 2:56.99.

 The West Haven girls swim team took on Lyman Hall Thursday afternoon and fell to the Trojans.
In the 200 medley relay Anya Celmer, Mary Luz Heidtmann, Karen Caceres and Jillian Doherty placed second with a time of 2 minutes, 12.93 seconds. Jasmine Gilbert, Dana Joseph, Talia Raucci, and Sirena Frissora placed fourth with a time of 2:25.35, and Nina DeSouza, Irene Ronan, Daniela Morales and Julie Furtado placed sixth with a time of 2:41.66. 
Joseph placed fourth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 3:09.89, Morgan Ruggiero placed fifth with a time of 3:22.65, and DeSouza  placed sixth with the a of 3:34.73. 
In the 200 individual medley, Heidtmann placed first with a time of 2:32.76, Adrianna Accioly placed second with a time of 2:59.58, and Morales placed sixth with a time of 3:21.62. 
Celmer was first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 27.69, Doherty was third with a time of 30.00, and Sirena Frissora was fifth with the a time of 31.72.
In the 1 meter diving, Maxine Carrion placed third with 136.35 points. 
Caceres was first in the 100 butterfly with the time of 1:15.67, Raucci placed fourth with the time of 1:25.16 and Morales placed sixth with the time of 1:41.78. 
In the 100 freestyle, Nicole Gaston placed second with a time of 1:04.92, Doherty placed third with a time of 1:05.45, and Taylor Frissora placed sixth with a time of 1:24.63. 
Celmer was first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:57.84, Jasmine Gilbert was third with a time of 6:51.56 and Accioly placed fourth with a time of 7:09.96.
In the 200 free relay Ronan, Joseph, Raucci, and Doherty placed third in a time of 2:07.07. Gaston, Taylor Frissora, Ruggiero, and Accioly placed fourth in a time of 2:18.47. Mayreliz Estrada, Keila Cruz, Brenda Reyes, and Celina Vicente were sixth in a time of 2:55.59. 
Caceres placed second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:17.81, Raucci placed fourth with a time of 1:20.63, and Gaston placed fifth with a time of 1:20.81.
In the 100 breaststroke, Heidtmann finished second with a time of 1:18.32, Joseph placed fifth with a time of 1:31.89, and Cruz was sixth with a time of 2:14.99. 
Caceres, Gaston,Celmer, and Heidtmann finished first in the 400 free relay in a time of 4:25.10. Accioly, Sirena Frissora, Ruggiero, and Gilbert were third with a time of 5:04.66 and Furtado, Cruz, Olivia Nicolelli, and Morales placed fifth with a time of 5:31.98.

 The West Haven girls swim team battled, but lost a close meet to Jonathan Law Monday evening. Despite the effort, the Westies came up short, falling 95-90 at Foran High.

 The West Haven girls swim team took on the East Haven Yellow Jackets Thursday afternoon and won 58-52. The team win was West Haven's first of the season.
In the 200 medley relay Anya Celmer, Mary Luz Heidtmann, Karen Caceres, and Jillian Doherty placed first with a time of 2 minutes, 18.48 seconds, while Nicole Gaston, Dana Joseph, Talia Raucci, and Sirena Frissora placed second with a time of 2:27.79.Maggie Yeh, Kelia Cruz, Daniela Morales, and Irene Ronan were fourth with a time of 3:02.61. 
Jasmine Gilbert placed second in the 200 freestyle with the time of 2:28.10, Adrianna Accioly placed third with a time of 2:47.63, and Julie Furtado placed fourth with the time of 3:08.02.
In the 200 individual medley, Heidtmann was first with a time of 2:36.27, Raucci placed third with the time of 3:04.04, and Morales placed fourth with the time of 3:27.01. 
Doherty won the 50 freestyle with a time of 29.32 seconds, Ronan placed second with a time of 32.00 seconds, and Joseph placed third with a time of 32.43 seconds.  
In the 100 butterfly, Celmer was first with a time of 1:13.62, Doherty was third with the time of 1:22.68 and Taylor Frissora placed fourth with the time of 1:52.75. 
Gaston won the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:05.05. In the 500 freestyle, Raucci was second with a time of 7:02.25, Accioly was 3rd with a time of 7:27.25, and Anna Bartozzi placed fourth with a time of 8:37.03.
In the 200 free relay, Ronan, Joseph, Sirena Frissora, and Doherty were first in 2:11.92, while Naome Wright, Yeh, Zoe Militrano and Olivia Nicolelli finished in 3:09.01.
Celmer won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:12.40, Caceres placed second in 1:16.76, Gilbert placed third with a time of 1:16.93, and Taylor Frissora placed fourth with the time of 1:31.51.
In the 100 breaststroke, Heidtmann won with a time of 1:18.23, Joseph placed second with the time of 1:30.83, Bartozzi placed fourth with a time of 2:11.70 and Cruz placed fifth with the time of 2:13.00. 
Gaston, Celmer, Caceres, and Heidtmann won the 400 free relay with a time of 4:27.94. Furtado, Taylor Frissora, Nina Desouza, and Sirena Frissora placed second with the time of 5:31.65 and Mikaela Ford-Smith, Militrano, Bartozzi, and Patty Vecellio placed third with the time of 6:25.53.

In the 200 medley relay, freshman Anya Celmer, junior Mary Luz Heidtmann, junior Karen Caceres, and sophomore Jillian Doherty placed second with a time of 2 minutes, 10.34 seconds. Freshman Nicole Gaston, freshman Irene Ronan, senior captain Talia Raucci, and junior Sirena Frissora placed third with a time of 2:27.36 and junior Maggie Yeh, freshman Brenda Reyes, freshman Daniela Morales, and sophomore Morgan Ruggiero placed sixth with the time of 3:19.06. 
Celmer took first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:14.86, and Raucci placed fifth with the time of 2:42.85. 
In the 200 individual medley, Heidtmann was second in 2:32.71, Morales was fifth in a time of 3:29.35, and sophomore Julie Furtado placed sixth with a time of 3:44.52. 
Doherty placed second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 30.07, Ronan placed fifth with the time of 30.15, and junior Sirena Frissora placed sixth with a time of 32.59.
In the 1 meter diving, senior Maxine Carrion placed second with 162.95 points, which allows her to qualify for the state tournament.
Caceres placed third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:18.88, Raucci placed fourth with the time of 1:23.66, and senior Taylor Frissora placed fifth with the time of 1:50.42. 
Celmer won the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:01.10, Gaston followed in second place with the time of 1:05.89, and junior Olivia Nicolelli placed sixth with a time of 1:31.57. 
In the 500 freestyle, senior Jasmine Gilbert placed third with a time of 6:56.06, Sirena Frissora placed fifth with the time of 8:31.00 and junior Nina DeSouza placed sixth with the time of 9:15.90.
Ronan, Raucci, Sirena Frissora and Doherty placed second in the 200 freestyle relay with the time of 2:08.44. Ruggiero, Taylor Frissora, Fortado, sophomore Mikaela Ford-Smith placed fourth with the time of 2:28.35, and Yeh, sophomore Zoe Militrano, Nicolelli, and senior Patricia Vecellio placed sixth with the time of 2:42.95. 
In the 100 backstroke, Caceres placed second with the time of 1:18.20 and Yeh placed fifth with the time of 1:54.25.
Heidtmann won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:19.95, Gaston placed third with the time of 1:30.60 and DeSouza placed fifth with the time of 2:18.18. 
In the 400 free relay, Celmer, Caceres, Gaston, and Heidtmann took first with the time of 4:19.69. Vecellio, Taylor Frissora, Fortado, and Morales placed fourth with the time of 5:35.30, and Ruggiero, sophomore Celina Vicente, Militrano, and Ford-Smith placed fifth with the time of 6:44.48.

Spartans drop WH to 0-3 with 88-79 decision

 The West Haven girls swim team took on the Amity Spartans Monday afternoon and fell by the score of 88-79.
In the 200 medley relay, Jasmine Gilbert, Mary Luz Heidtmann, Karen Caceres, and Anya Celmer placed third with the time of 2 minutes, 16.06 seconds. Freshmen Nicole Gaston, Irene Ronan, Daniela Morales, and Adrianna Accioly placed fifth with a time of 2:33.70. 
Gilbert placed fourth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:35.69, Accioly placed fifth with a time of 2:57.21, and Sirena Frissora placed sixth with a time of 2:59.16. 
In the 200 individual medley, Heidtmann was third with a time of 2:34, Morales was fifth in a time of 3:26.32, and Taylor Frissora was sixth with the time of 3:35.64. 
Celmer placed second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 27.65 seconds, Gaston placed fourth with the time of 30.62 seconds, and Ronan placed fifth with the time of 31 seconds. In the 1 meter diving, Maxine Carrion was second with 141.45 points.

Caceres placed second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:12.33, Gaston placed fifth with a time of 1:21.25, and Raucci placed sixth with a time of 1:27.95.
Hiedtmann finished second in the 100 breast stroke with a time of 1:21.10, and Cruz placed fifth with the time of 2:14.12 
In the 400 free relay, Caceres, Gaston, Celmer, and Heidtmann placed fourth with the time 4:25.98. Accioly, Taylor Frissora, Sirena Frissora, and Raucci were fifth with a time of 5:21.58 and Vecellio, Ruggiero, Militrano, and Ford-Smith placed sixth with a time of 6:04.32.

 The West Haven girls swim team took on the Branford Hornets Thursday afternoon and fell 100-76 at West Haven High.
In the 200 medley relay, Jasmine Gilbert, Mary-Luz Heidtmann, Karen Caceres, and Jillian Doherty placed second with the time of 2 minutes, 15.69 seconds. Freshman Nicole Gaston, junior Dana Joseph, senior captain Talia Raucci, and freshman Irene Ronan placed third with the time of 2:24.65, and Maggie Yeh, Keila Cruz, Olivia Nicolelli, and Samantha D'Amico placed fifth with a time of 2:35.07. 
In the 200 freestyle, Raucci placed fourth with a time of 2:39.65, senior Taylor Frissora was fifth with a time of 3:07.94, and Gilbert placed sixth with a time of 3:09.84. In the 200 individual medley, Heidtmann placed second with a time of 2:24.13, freshman Daniela Morales was fourth with a time of 3:26.61, and Cruz placed fifth with the time of 3:26.62.

Tigers post 91-77 win in opener

The West Haven girls swim team went against the girls swim team of Daniel Hand Tuesday afternoon and fell to the Tigers 91-77 in the team’s season opener.
In the 200 freestyle, Julie Furtado came in sixth place with the time of 3 minutes, 6.02 seconds, Sirena Frissora came in fourth place with a time of 2:56.70 and Anya Celmer came in first place with the time of 2:14.32.
In the 200 medley relay, captain Talia Raucci came in fifth place with a time of 3:02.93, Karen Caceres came in third place with a time of 2:46.78 and Mary Luz Heidtmann came in first with a time of 2:35.78. In the 200 medley relay, Nicole Gaston, Dana Joseph, Raucci, and Jillian Doherty came in fourth place with the time of 2:23.45, and Jasmine Gilbert, Heidtmann, Caceres, and Celmer came in second place with the time of 2:11.13.
The 50 freestyle saw Adrianna Accioly come in fifth place with a time of 32.59 seconds. Gilbert came in third place with the time of 32.13 and Doherty came in second place with the time of 30.79. In diving, Maxine Carrion was the only diver and out of her six dives, came out with the score of 143.25. This has allowed her to qualify for SCC's only after one meet.
In the 100 butterfly, Caceres came in fourth place with the time of 1:19.74 and freshman Daniela Morales came in fifth place with the time of 1:37.05. The 100 freestyle saw Taylor Frissora come in sixth place with a time of 1:24.20, while Raucci came in fifth place with a time of 1:14.05 and Gaston came in third with the time of 1:08.19.
In the 500 freestyle, Furtado placed sixth with the time of 9:31.45, Morales came in fifth with the time of 7:54.12 and Celmer came in first with the time of 6:03.29.
The 200 free relay saw Olivia Nicolelli, Maggie Yeh, Brenda Reyes and Keila Cruz come in sixth place with the time of 2:58.31. Zoe Militrano, Morgan Ruggiero, Patricia Vecellio and Morales came in fifth with the time of 2:28.62 and Irene Ronan, Joseph, Doherty and Raucci came in third with a time of 2:07.45. 
In the 100 backstroke, Accioly came in fifth place in 1:35.60 and Gaston came in fourth place with the time of 1:21.21.  Cruz came in second place with the time of 2:07.73 and Heidtmann came in first place with a time of 1:20.80.
Accioly, Anna Bartozzi and Cruz and Militrano came in sixth place in the 500 free relay with a time of 6:00.86, Mikaela Ford-Smith, Sirena Frissora, Taylor Frissora and Nina DeSouza came in fifth place with the time of 5:40.09, and Caceres, Doherty, Heidtmann and Celmer placed first with the time of 4:27.10.
